4-H Fair Dedication to John “Ricky” Hardaker of Barre

It is with great pride and appreciation that we choose to dedicate this 61st year of the Worcester County 4-H Fair to John “Ricky” Hardaker of Barre.

Ricky has been involved with the 4-H Fair as a volunteer for over 30 years. When the fair was located in the lower part of Camp Marshall and the exhibit halls were the old dining hall and the pole barn, Ricky was in charge of the snack bar located in a trailer near the entrance to the lower part of Camp Marshall. Ricky’s food was terrific and everybody knew it. The French fries were the best of all.

Over the last twenty-five years, Ricky has been the chef behind our wonderful chicken barbeque. He organizes it, buys all the food and makes a fantastic meal year after year. Fairgoers have come to rely upon the plates piled high with chicken, corn on the cob, potatoes, and of course the much talked about homemade rolls, the most amazing ones around.

Ricky has also been a long time 4-H volunteer in many other capacities as well. He is a former 4-H Camp Marshall president and director and was very involved in our cookie and candy sale many years ago. For years his culinary skill was behind our delicious 4-H banquets.

We rely on Ricky especially when it comes to food related 4-H events. He is a pro who always produces a wonderful meal with a smile and a willing heart. We are very much indebted to Ricky for his contributions and thank him for all his hard work and service. Ricky, you are a very big part of what makes the 4-H Fair so special! Past Dedications:
